Corporate Development & M&A Lead
Job description
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading global enterprise software group, is seeking a Corporate Development professional for a US-based role supporting their high-growth Enterprise Asset Management subsidiary. The business delivers cloud-based solutions that help organizations manage assets, maintenance, and safety processes efficiently.
Role Overview
This is a dedicated, hands-on M&A role focused on strategy, sourcing, and execution. The successful candidate will:
-
Own the full deal lifecycle, from pipeline development through diligence, execution, and closing
-
Drive M&A strategy aligned with the subsidiary’s growth objectives and broader corporate priorities
-
Provide direct strategic insights and briefings to executive leadership
Reporting lines include corporate development leadership and a dotted line to the subsidiary’s senior leadership team. The role also involves close collaboration with the broader corporate development team and provides high visibility across the group. Integration responsibilities sit elsewhere, allowing focus on high-impact deal execution.
Ideal Candidate
The successful hire will have an extensive track record in corporate development and M&A within the SaaS space, ideally with exposure to industrial or heavy-asset sectors. They will demonstrate:
-
Significant experience leading end-to-end M&A processes, including strategy development, opportunity sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and execution
-
Proven ability to drive growth through strategic acquisitions and partnerships in a high-growth technology environment
-
Comfort briefing senior executives and boards, with the ability to distill complex opportunities into clear commercial insights
-
Strong financial acumen, commercial judgment, and operational understanding, particularly in industrial or enterprise software contexts
-
A proactive, hands-on approach, thriving in fast-paced, high-visibility environments where ownership of outcomes is paramount
