M&A Deal Lead (pan-European focus)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced M&A Deal Lead to join one of the leading European Corporate Development teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive strategic acquisition projects across Europe, contributing to the growth and expansion of the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mergers and Acquisitions, with expertise in strategy, deal execution, and post-acquisition integration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analytical searches to identify and assess acquisition opportunities, including carve-outs.

  • Build and maintain networks with companies to uncover and capitalize on new business opportunities.

  • Lead cross-functional due diligence teams to evaluate potential acquisitions.

  • Develop and present financial evaluations, risk analyses, and strategic recommendations for acquisition prospects.

  • Oversee the execution of strategic acquisition projects in alignment with company objectives.

  • Collaborate with post-deal integration teams to ensure seamless transitions and successful integration of acquired entities.

  • Support and occasionally lead divestment efforts for non-strategic assets.

  • Manage deal execution for business development and licensing projects.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory policies.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Proven in-house buy-side experience.

  • Expertise in conducting due diligence and managing deals end-to-end.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, M&A, and integration processes.

  • Right to work in the UK/EU.

Preferred:

  • Background in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Big 4 Transaction Services (TS) team prior to transitioning to an in-house corporate development role.

  • Willingness to relocate to Brussels.

Day-to-Day

  • Proactively search for and evaluate acquisition targets across various sectors.

  • Lead and coordinate due diligence processes with cross-functional teams.

  • Develop financial models and risk assessments to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute deals efficiently.

  • Work closely with integration teams to ensure the smooth onboarding of acquired businesses.

  • Monitor market trends and identify strategic opportunities for growth.
