Phipps Cameron Takes on Tough Mudder for Mind

We did it! πŸ’ͺπŸ’₯πŸ₯³

On Saturday 20th September, the Phipps Cameron team braved the Tough Mudder London South challenge at Holmbush Estate, tackling wild wooded terrain, knee-juddering hills, natural mudslides, and gravity-defying obstacles – all to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind.

Team members took on both the 5k and 15k courses, navigating up to 20 challenging obstacles along the way. The result? Laughter, teamwork, muddy trainers, and Β£545 raised for a brilliant cause.

Why it mattered

With mental health affecting 1 in 4 people in the UK, every contribution counts. Mind plays a crucial role in raising awareness, supporting those facing challenges, and advocating for better services – helping to change lives for the better.

Team reflections

Oliver Boorn, Principal:

"Plenty of mud, plenty of laughs, and a great chance to do something different as a team. My trainers didn’t survive, but it was a fun day full of obstacles, team spirit, and all for a brilliant cause in Mind."

Jen Talbott-White, Associate Director:

"My first intense exercise challenge in a while, I was buzzing with anticipation (and, a little, with nerves). From the moment we arrived, the energy from the team and other participants was infectious, and from that very first step, I knew we had this – as a team. There were countless opportunities to put teamwork into practice, from the first obstacle to the last, and we rose to every challenge (quite literally – my strong colleagues nearly flipped me over the first wall!). My manicure didn’t survive, my white trainers will never be the same, but the day left me with a huge sense of fulfilment and team spirit that will last. One of the best days of 2025 so far, without question. Beyond the most important – raising money for Mind, a charity doing critical mental health work – Tough Mudder delivered genuine team bonding, loads of laughter, and memories that will pay dividends as we continue to grow Phipps Cameron together."

Tim Baker, Principal:

"Nothing bonds a team quite like crawling under barbed wire, dragging each other through trenches, and then laughing about it over a well-earned beer at the end. Proud to have raised money for such a vital charity, and even prouder of how we did it."

A huge well done to everyone who took part: Jen Talbott-White, Jordan Derbyshire, Tim Baker, Oliver Boorn, Joshua Morris, Keke Mandigal, and Felipe Saenz – your incredible efforts have made a real difference.
