Nicole (Senior Manager at Qualitest) had known Phipps Cameron for a number of years as a candidate when she was in private equity. We had also worked with the Head of Corporate Development, Mudit, and previously placed him into a contract role at CAPCO.

Qualitest is the world’s largest, independent managed services provider of quality assurance and testing solutions. As a strategic partner, Qualitest help brands move beyond functional testing to adopt new innovations such as automation, AI, and crowd-sourced UX testing.
Bridgepoint is an international alternative asset fund management group focusing on the middle market. With offices in Europe, the US and China, they acquire or invest in businesses with a European focus.
Situation
Bridgepoint took a majority stake in Qualitest in July 2019 with a plan for the expansion of Qualitest’s platform through a combination of further organic growth and selective M&A. Due to the increased appetite for M&A, Nicole was given the mandate to hire a. junior individual to support on all aspects of the deal cycle, but with immediately adding value on the due diligence aspects of deals.
Solution
Before starting the process, we discussed the potential options in terms of backgrounds and the strengths of each. We agreed that a transaction services professional would best complement the team in the short-term and allow the individual to learn and progress within this role over time.
Due to the level of seniority of the role, the pace at which candidates can move at this level and our strength in numbers and quality of candidates, we agreed the most efficient and effective method for supporting Qualitest on this search would be with a contingent search. We managed the candidate to a salary where Qualitest were able to offer her more than expected and a verbal acceptance was given within 24hrs of the offer being made. The candidate, from a Big 4 transaction services team, made very smooth transition into the team at Qualitest.
