Responsibilities
As the Head of M&A, your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Corporate Development & Strategy
- Develop and execute the company’s M&A strategies aligned with organizational growth plans.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify potential acquisition opportunities.
- Lead the development of investment theses to support business expansion initiatives.

Deal Origination & Execution
- Source potential merger and acquisition opportunities within the insurance broking sector.
- Lead due diligence processes across financial, operational, legal, and strategic aspects.
- Structurally negotiate deals, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Evaluate risks and returns at every stage of a transaction.

Integration & Value Creation
- Oversee post-merger integration efforts to ensure successful transitions.
- Work cross-functionally with teams to realize synergies and maximize value creation.
- Establish measurable KPIs to assess acquisition outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and regulatory bodies to manage transactions.
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders, including board members and investors, to provide updates and strategic direction.

Market Analysis
- Stay informed of market trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities in the insurance broking space.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in Corporate Development & M&A, particularly within the insurance broking sector or adjacent industries.
- Expertise in designing and implementing buy-and-build strategies at an organizational level.
- Strong background in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and risk analysis.
- Ability to effectively lead negotiations and manage multiple complex transactions.
- Exceptional strategic thinking coupled with a results-driven mentality.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous in-house M&A or corporate development experience in insurance broking is highly desirable.
- MBA, CFA, or relevant advanced degree.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the insurance and financial services sector.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in leadership practices and decision-making processes.
Day-to-Day
- Meet with senior leadership to refine M&A strategies and align priorities.
- Identify, vet, and engage with potential acquisition targets and maintain a robust deal pipeline.
- Lead financial and operational due diligence activities, coordinating with cross-functional internal teams and external advisors.
- Prepare and present financial models, term sheets, and board-level reports.
- Negotiate deal terms, ensuring favorable outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Oversee the post-merger integration process, ensuring business continuity and realization of synergies.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive landscapes to uncover new opportunities.
