Group Financial Controller

Our client is a high-growth, acquisitive group operating internationally, with revenues exceeding £100m. Having completed multiple acquisitions in the past year, the business is scaling rapidly and requires a Group Financial Controller to strengthen its financial reporting, controls, and integration capability.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role where you will work directly with the Group CFO and senior leadership team to ensure accurate, timely reporting while building scalable processes that support continued growth. You will also play a key role in the integration of newly acquired businesses into the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly consolidation and reporting process, ensuring timely, accurate management accounts.

  • Oversee and enhance the Group’s financial control framework, ensuring consistency across all entities.

  • Manage the year-end audit and statutory reporting processes, maintaining strong auditor relationships.

  • Drive post-acquisition integration, onboarding new businesses into Group reporting and policies.

  • Support operating company finance teams, especially those with lean resources, to ensure high-quality reporting.

  • Champion automation and digital finance tools to improve efficiency and streamline reporting.

  • Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to deliver financial insight that supports strategic decision-making.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven finance culture.

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Strong technical knowledge (IFRS or FRS 102) with experience in multi-entity, multi-currency groups.

  • Proven experience managing group reporting, consolidation, and audits.

  • Background in a fast-paced, acquisitive business is highly desirable.

  • Strong systems orientation; familiarity with IBM Cognos or similar consolidation tools advantageous.

  • Interest in automation and AI-led finance improvements.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Willing to travel across the UK and internationally.
