Overview

Our client, a high-growth B2B SaaS provider backed by a leading private equity investor, is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy, elevate operational performance, and support the next stage of scale. The business is entering a period of accelerated international expansion, product innovation, and recurring-revenue optimisation. The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and PE board, strengthening processes, reporting, and financial discipline across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting

Lead all finance functions: accounting, controlling, FP&A, tax, treasury, cash management.

Ensure accurate, timely monthly reporting, SaaS metric dashboards, and forecasting aligned with PE requirements.

Own statutory reporting under HGB/IFRS as applicable, and manage group consolidation.

Maintain strong auditor, tax advisor, and banking relationships.

SaaS Metrics & Commercial Finance

Build and refine key SaaS KPIs including ARR/MRR, churn, NRR, CAC, LTV, cohort analysis, and product profitability.

Support pricing strategy, customer retention initiatives, and customer lifetime value analysis.

Provide commercial finance support to sales, marketing, customer success, and product teams.

Value Creation & PE Partnership

Deliver on the PE value-creation plan, including revenue scaling, margin improvement, cost control, and working capital optimisation.

Lead M&A financial evaluation, integration planning, and synergy tracking.

Drive exit readiness: KPIs, forecasting quality, data room preparation, and financial narrative development.

Systems, Processes & Scaling

Strengthen financial processes, internal controls, and governance appropriate for a modern SaaS environment.

Lead ERP/finance system improvements and ensure scalable infrastructure to support international growth.

Implement best-practice SaaS billing, revenue recognition, and subscription management processes.

Team Leadership

Build and mentor a high-performing finance team across controlling, accounting, and FP&A.

Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader in SaaS, software, or technology companies.

Strong understanding of SaaS economics, recurring-revenue metrics, and subscription finance.

Prior exposure to private equity environments, including investor reporting and value-creation programmes.

Technical proficiency in HGB/IFRS, revenue recognition for SaaS, and scaling finance systems.

Hands-on, analytical, and comfortable in a fast-paced, data-driven scale-up.

Fluent German and English.
